Turnip and dried scallop congee

Japanese have a tradition to eat "congee with herbs" on the 7th of January.  Congee is a rice soup that is eaten in many Asian countries.  In my opinion, Chinese people eat congee more often than Japanese.  For Japanese, congee is something that you eat when you're sick, but Chinese people eat them as light meals and there are many speciality shops in Hong Kong.  Congee is lighter than normal white rice and it's also good as a dieting menu.
