Sapporo at night

Hokkaido is almost a foreign country for me because of its distance from Kyushu.  Hokkaido is very much a new land for Japan because people stated to explore and migrated to there in Meiji period; from 1870.  Before immigration of Japanese, only Ainu people were living there.

The town and the buildings looked very compact and organized and it was very easy to go around the town.  Because it's cold there you can walk everywhere in the underground path.
