June in Tokyo - Zojoji

I've been to Tokyo in mid-June.  It was still in the rainy season there so the weather was cloudy most of the time.  Though it was not too hot.  I happened to stay in the Price Hotel where I hardly been in the district before.

The temple Zojoji was surprisingly big.  I had no idea that temple that big was existing in this area then I've realized the name of "Daimon" in the station means "the main gate" of the temple.  I walked the Hamamatsucho area and I've found it was a pleasant place with lots of small eateries.

「増上寺」６月半ばから日本へ帰国していて、１週間ほど東京に滞在していた。今回は事情があり、浜松町から芝公園辺りをメインによく歩いた。馴染みのないエリアだったが、浜松町の駅から歩くと大門を通ると、増上寺という大きなお寺がある。とても古い寺で、徳川家に由来があり、江戸の重要な歴史建立物だということが分かった。

そもそも、大江戸線の大門という駅名もこの寺の門という意味で、浜松町の駅からの大きな通りも参道だったのであろう。大門のエリアを毎日歩いたが、道はスッキリと広々していて公園もある。蕎麦屋などの飲食店が多く結構好きな街になった。
