Kumamoto Castle after the quake 1

I took a long walk around Kumamoto Castle to see the damage of the earthquake in April.  My overall impression was quite bad.  For the main castle, nothing had really broken but most of the roof tiles fell but the worst part was the stone walls.  Most of the beautiful stone walls fell apart.

Because the castle is important cultural treasure,  they need to rebuild in the way which is used to built 400 years ago.  Of course, modern technology helps to arrange things faster but they're estimating to take 20 years to rebuild those walls again..

「震災後の熊本城」昨日探検バクモンで熊本城が特集されたので、その前に熊本城を観察に出かけた。熊本の街の中で崩壊した建物は古いものを除けばそれほど多くないが、熊本城の被害は結構大変なものだと思った。

櫓は壊れていないが、石垣がほとんど崩れている。熊本城は敷地が広く石垣がとても美しくて有名だったのにとても残念だ。立ち居入り禁止が多くて以前のように色々見ることができないが、震災後の熊本城を案内するボランティアの方のツアーも行われている。
