クリスマス用に生けた花。

Red pepper vase

 

Pepper is pretty but heavy to put in the vase.  I should have placed it in a lower vase.

「唐辛子」夏らしいので唐辛子と八重のひまわりをさしてみたが、唐辛子は実の重みがあってうまく花瓶に立たない。もう少し低い花瓶か水盆に差したらよかった。

Vase Amakusa

 A local shop in Amakusa sells lots of flowers so each time I go there I bring back lots of them!

「天草の花」天草はお花どころで花が安い。いつも本渡の道の駅で魚、野菜、花を沢山買って帰るのが定番。この頃は梅雨で雨ばかり降っていたがひまわりは綺麗だった。

Kumamoto Visit!

 

My husband could finally take two weeks off from his schedule to visit me in Kumamoto!  My family and I prepared for his visit at the beginning of July.  I had hectic early summer between my jobs and to prepare as a guide.

「熊本の旅！」突然夫が２週間の休みをとって熊本に来ることになったので、７月の上旬から準備で大忙しだった。私も抱えている仕事や試験などがある中であれこれと準備をしていた。７月の初めと言えば梅雨の真っ只中で天気が良くなかった。その中で天気予報を確認しながら旅行の計画、予約をして大変だった。

そんな７月であっという間に過ぎてしまった。人生でも最も早く感じる１ヶ月だった。

From the flower festival

 

I bought those two flower pots from the flower festival.  Each of them lasted about two to three weeks.

「ヒヤシンスとラナンキュラス」植木市で買った花の鉢。ヒヤシンスは香りが良いので毎年買う。ラナンキュラスは初めて買ったが花がいくつも咲いたし結構長く保っていた。

February is the season of the Ume plum tree in Kumamoto.  I love the scent of this flower.  Our tree is very old but it blooms well every year.

「梅の木」２月は梅の季節。我が家の梅もよく咲いた。梅は何と言っても香りがいい。なんとも言えないほのかな上品な香りがする。

Trees and plants festival 2023

 

I've always looked forward to going to this festival because I love plants and flowers. Yet this year the antique shop I was into last year didn't come to this show so I was very disappointed.

「植木市２０２３」毎年この時期に楽しみにしている植木市。必ず何度か足を運ぶ。去年いい骨董屋に出会って楽しみにしていたのに、今年は出展されていなかった。それが主に楽しみだったのに残念。

珍しい花の鉢を一つ買って帰ってきた。今年は橙に再び挑戦してみようかと迷っている。

Flowers of January

 

I brought back some flowers from my work it lasts a long in cold weather.

「１月の花」職場から持ち帰った花たちを自分流にアレンジ。冬場は使い終わった花を頂いても少し保つ。

 I didn't have much time to gather good ingredients for it. Thought I was very happy that I made it this year.

「クリスマスリース」私にとってはしめ縄のようなものだろうか。クリスマスを自宅で過ごす時は自作するようにしている。今年は田崎市場の花屋で買ったヒバと子飼商店街で買った綿花の組み合わせで作った。忙しい中で何か一つでも自分の作品が出来ることがとても嬉しかった。

Sarusuberi is the tree that blooms in the summer in our region.  Lovely pink colours stand out in the park.

「サルスベリ」夏に咲く花で好きな花。ピンク色に濃淡がある事に気が付いた。花びらも可愛らしい。

Flowers in July

We don't have many flowers in the summer but I've found that these are wonderful even in the hot season.

「７月の花」大きな百合はお庭で育てられた方に頂いたもの。ものすごい大きさだ。トルコ桔梗の白は涼しげな印象。

Growing "morning glory" is one of the most memorable summer homework during the summer vacation when I was a young student.  For the first time in ages, I've redone this for my joy.  It's still in progress and I hope to see some flowers at the end of this summer.

「朝顔」小学生以来、朝顔を植えてみた。今は西洋朝顔という種類があったのでそれも植えてみた。７月に入って忙しくなりあまり面倒をみれてない。植える時期が遅かったので花は夏の終わり頃になりそうだ。日本朝顔はヒョロヒョロで栄養が足りないのだろうか。

Ajisai: Japanese Hydrangea is the flower of the rainy season but it was almost sunny every day in June this year.

「紫陽花」江津湖の紫陽花はとても大きくて綺麗。今年は雨が降らないので雨に濡れないまま咲いていた。

We have so many of this type of this flowers in the town in this season.  They usually bloom in the middle of the rainy season, but this year's rain season was late, so they bloomed without the rain.

「紫陽花」今年は梅雨入りが遅いので紫陽花も雨が降らないまま咲いていた。それでもとても綺麗。
