Tasaki Market

I went to buy fish at Tasaki market which is the biggest wholesale market in Kumamoto.  I've never been here to buy fish so I was not sure what kind of fish I can find and buy as an individual.  There were few shops inside to sell fish for wholesale but for an individual as well. and I was very surprised with the varieties of fish and seafood there.

I bought wild red snapper to repeat the dish I've learned at Tsuji.  1.3 kilo of snapper cost about 4000 yen and I thought it was a great price.

「田崎市場」熊本の卸売市場といえばここで、初めて魚を買いに行ってみた。個人で買い物できる魚屋があるのか不明だったが、意外といくつもあり、簡単に売ってくれた。この日は辻で習った料理を復習するために、天然鯛を買った。１．３キロで４０００円。デパートだったら倍近くしそうな良いものだったので、なかなか満足。

思った以上に様々な種類の新鮮な魚や魚介が売ってあり、なぜ今までここに魚を買いに来なかったのか後悔するほど見てるだけでも楽しい。朝の９時くらいに行ったが、もう少し早い方が良さそうだ。
