Spring vegetables

There are many seasonal vegetables in Japan.  Spring vegetables are one of my favourites.  They have a special fragrance, sometimes it's slightly bitter but that the taste of spring.

「春野菜」一部だが春は季節の野菜が多くて楽しい。春の野菜は独特なほろ苦さが特徴的。わずかな時期しか楽しめないので貴重だ。日本の食材は季節と共に移り変わるので、特に考えなくてもその時期に一番美味しいものを頂ける。

Goshado

I've found a very good "Hambagu" restaurant near Kumamoto station.  They only have steak and hambagu on their menu but they're delicious.

「五車堂本店」昔、交通センターの中に入っていたという洋食店。今はハンバーグとステーキしかないが、ハンバーグはとても美味しかった。野菜もたっぷり添えてあってバランスがいい。サラダ、ご飯、お味噌汁、コーヒーがつく。

Nice day in March

The weather in March in Kumamoto is absolutely beautiful.  Though it changes every day.  One day is sunny like this but the next day is rainy which I believe that it gives energy to nature.  The lake I walk is actually is bigger in the other end.  When I have time I talk a long walk to the beginning of the other end.

「３月の天気」３月は素晴らしく晴れた日もあれば、１日雨の日もあったが気温が心地よく、散歩が楽しかった。この日はとてもいい天気だったので、下江図の方まで歩いた。菜の花が咲き始めていて春を感じる。

I'm in Japan now for my family cause.  It's been a hectic week for us as well as a whole Japan where the state of coronavirus scare.

先月から家族の事情で日本に帰国してきました。同時にコロナウイルスの流行もあり、地味に暮らしています。

Plants and trees festival

There is a limited-term market in Kumamoto for trees and plants on the side of the Shirakawa river.  I love this festival to see many flowers and plants.  When the weather is good I often visit there.

「植木市」２月、３月に開かれる熊本植木市。私はこれがとても好きでこの時期に帰国しているとよく行く。花をみて回るのが楽しく、色んな植物を見ていると飽きない。今年はグミの木を買って庭に植えてみた。

This is a very casual place serves great food.  I love fresh sashimi and simple grilled Yakitori.  I really love a simple Japanese place when I'm in Japan.

「田町の居酒屋」ここは安価だが、とても新鮮な食材で美味しい。日本に帰ってクルトシンプルな料理がとても美味しく感じる。

Matsubara An

I looked up on Google to visit this place because it was very convenient to go to Meiji Jingu but it was slightly disappointing.  Soba was ok but the tempura was not good at all.  The ingredients of tempura are not fresh enough for me.  Thought the place is extremely well decorated to have quiet lunch on the busy street.

「松原庵」明治神宮に行くのに便利だったので行ってみた表参道のビルの中にある蕎麦。鎌倉の有名店だそうで、とても素敵なお店で、ゆっくり出来る空間だったのだが、肝心な蕎麦も天ぷらもイマイチだった。蕎麦は悪くなかったが、天ぷらの材料の質が悪い。おすすめしない。

Meiji Jingu

I was in Tokyo in mid-February but I didn't want to go to any place with lots of people so I went to Meiji Jingu for a walk.  It was a perfect day for a long walk.  Sure there were fewer people than usual because of coronavirus.

「明治神宮」２月半ば東京へ行く用事があったが、あまり人混みの室内に居たくなかったので、明治神宮へ散歩に行ってみた。コロナウイルスの影響で観光客が少なく、天気も良い日だったのでとても良かった。
