There are some severely damaged buildings nearby the castle.  Especially Kumamoto Daijingu had completely vanished with the stones fell off from the walls behind.  Also large scale buildings such as public gymnasium, swimming pools are not able to reopen yet.

「被害の大きな建物」熊本城のふもとにあった熊本大神宮は後ろから雪崩落ちた石垣に潰されて跡形もないほど崩れてしまい本当にお気の毒で仕方ない。馴染みの神社や地元のホテルも被害が大きい。一般的に建物が広いほど、天井が落ちる被害が大きいようだ。熊本市内の体育館やプールも再開の目処が立っていない。
