Japanese home dishes in February - vegetables

 

February is the season of spring vegetables in Kumamoto.  Yet this year I've seen less of those seasonal vegetables than usual year.  Because of inflation, the price of those is high and less available at local supermarkets.

「２月の野菜」今年はインフレでフキのとうなどの春の山菜などをあまり見なかった。まだ出るかな？と待っていたら出ないまま。値段も高いし一般用にはあまり出なくなったそうだ。それからの教訓は高くても季節の食材は買って食べないと来年まで待つことになる。菜の花なども高くても仕方ない。
