Old books at Jimbocho

「大屋書房」

Jimbocho is the town of books.  I didn't really know the speciality of each shop but I've researched the town before this time.  I spent one day with old books and old prints and another day with current books at Sanseido.

「神保町」今月号の「サライ」に神保町特集があり、私の神保町愛が復活してじっくり2日かけて行ってきた。サライのおかげでどの店がどの分野の専門店だということがよく分かった。

1日は古書と版画を巡り、もう1日は三省堂と東京堂で過ごした。ただ、とても寒かったので、古書巡りは思うように店先でしっかり読むことが出来なかった。原書房の版画部で、好みの古い版画を見つけて購入でき大満足。

I'm always impressed with varieties of foods in the basement food section of department stores in Japan called "Depachika".  There is always something new.

「デパ地下」東京のデパートのデパ地下には「何これ？！」と目を見張るようなものがある。東京駅の大丸の地下には面白い専門店がいくつもあった。にゅうめん屋、最中のお吸い物屋など。私は東側では大丸の地下、西側では渋谷のTokyuが生鮮食料品が良くお気に入り。

Tokyo Station to Marunouchi

Oh it was super cold in Tokyo last week.  It was a mix of snow and rain all day...  I like the street of Marunouchi because the street is very well designed and there are not many people thought it's very cold and windy to walk between the buildings.

「東京駅、丸の内」東京駅から有楽町の駅まで歩くことにした。しかし、この日は極寒で、日中２cで一日みぞれが降っていた。丸の内はスッキリした建築と道が広くて人が少ないので好きな街だが、冬はビル風がふいて寒い。

Tsutaya - Ginza

Ginza Six is my favourite spot in Ginza now.  Tsutaya is a great bookstore for art and culture books and magazines.  I also like their collection of cooking books.  I've found the design of this shop is very attractive.

「蔦屋・Ginza Six」蔦屋は芸術、文化、料理、雑誌などのセレクションが良くて好きな本屋。銀座シックスのデザインは特にお洒落な空間で大好き。

Nakameguro

Nakameguro is known for Sakura trees along the Meguro River.  When Sakura bloom, many people visit the riverside.  I've found some cute shops along the river.

「中目黒」目黒川沿いの桜で有名な所で、桜が咲くと多くの人が訪れる。天気が良かったので、川沿いを少し散歩してみた。雰囲気がいい店が結構あり、こじんまりとしていて住むのには魅力的な町だと思う。八百屋の野菜が安くて良さそうだった。

Underpass - Nakameguro

I've heard that underpass "Koukashita" of Nakameguro station; Hibiya Line had renewed series of shops so I've visited there for the first time.  There are a few cute shops.  The area of new shops are not too big but overall Nakameguro is a nice little town.

「中目黒高架下」１週間ほど東京へ行ってきた。行ったことがない町に行ってみようと思い、少し前にお洒落な店が出来たと聞いた中目黒へ。中目黒は日比谷線の駅なのであまり馴染みが無い。夜に開く店などお洒落な飲食店がいくつか出来ていた。ツタヤの独自な雰囲気がとてもいい。
