Shodai yaki

This plats are called "Shodai yaki", "Fumoto" kiln.  Shodai yaki is based in north part of Kuamamoto.  They were originally makers of tea ceremony's tea potteries.  They still supply to tea lessons but started to make more general plates recent years.

My mother and I really love to visit porcelain kiln each time I came back to Japan.  Japanese people love the porcelain, ceramics in daily life because in Japanese cuisine, plats are considered as a part of dish itself.  Also we use many types of plats for meal and we don't usually use the same plate for different dishes.  It's normal to use five different plates per person for dinner.

「小代焼き・ふもと窯」私はこれまで主に、佐賀の有田、伊万里、唐津などの窯を何度も訪れていたが、地元の熊本の小代焼きにはあまり興味がなかった。小代焼きは元々肥後・細川藩が作らせたもので、現代でも茶器を主に作っている。昔から家に壷や茶器などがあったが、とにかく地味なので、若い頃にはその良さが全く分からなかった。

最近ではこのふもと窯の息子さん（井上尚之さん）の作品が、セレクトショプなどで人気があるようなので、前回帰国した時に窯元を訪れてみた。今回はたまたま小代焼きの合同展示会があったので行ってみた。その中でもたけみや窯の作品がとても良かった。増々その魅力にひかれた。
