I've realized the dished I made in Kumamoto is more casual than I usually make.  Because I wanted to make the dishes that my nephews would like.  Since we were eight of us I needed to cook a lot in one portion, it was difficult to cook them in details.

I love this dish called "Rolled Cabbage" in Japanese.  I think the origin of this dish is from Russia but this is very popular winter dish in Japan.  Cabbage is reasonable vegetable in Japan but they're basically vegetables of cold place.  There is no good cabbages in Hong Kong unless they're imported from Japan.  That's why I wanted to make this dish this time in Japan.

「ロールキャベツ」キャベツは日本では比較的安価な普通の野菜だが、寒い地方の野菜なので、香港やシンガポールには美味しいものがない。暑いアジアに住んでいると、キャベツが高級品に感じる。

今回の帰省の料理写真を見渡すと、子供が好みの料理が多かった。さらに８人分を料理していたことで仕事が雑になったようだ。心持ち、料理の見た目がいつもよりダサい。
