National Museum of Western Art

National Museum of Western Art in Ueno, Tokyo is designed by Le Corbusier.  I went inside to see the building itself but I also saw the special exhibition and the usual exhibition.  Though there were many people for the special exhibition of "The Habsburg Dynasty", their permanent collections was worth to see.

「国立西洋美術館」ル・コルビュジエの建築で世界遺産になっている美術館。ハプスブルグ展と常設展を見に行った。企画展はとても人が多くてよく観ることが出来なかったが、常設展はゆっくり観ることが出来た。

ル・コルビュジエの建物は中も独特で素敵な空間だ。松方コレクションは膨大で素晴らしく、ロダンの彫刻が多くある。印象派の絵もそれなりにあり、日本にこれだけ有名な西洋画があることに驚いた。

Yabuizu Sohonten - Nihonbashi

This is a big Yabu soba shop located one street away from Nihonbashi Takashimaya.  It's a famous shop but the soba was prepared very well and I loved the place.

「藪伊豆総本店」日本橋にある有名な藪そば。大きな店な故か天ぷらが少し冷めていたが、料理は蕎麦を含めてとても丁寧だった。蕎麦つゆと天ぷらつゆが別で、薬味もとても繊細に用意されている。蕎麦はとてもいい感じだ。

蕎麦と出汁、どちらも神田のまつやの方が美味しかったかな？との印象を持ったが、高島屋から一本入った所というロケーションの良さ、ゆっくりできる空間で、値段はそれほど高くない。

座敷では、そば寄せきとう言う蕎麦と落語を楽しむ会が開催されているらしく、なんとも風流なのだ。

Breakfast in Tennozu

Bakery in TY Harbor is very nice.  I go there for the ambience.  Their bread is very good but unfortunately coffee is terrible...

「朝食」TYハーバーの横にあるパン屋さんは朝から開いていてとても好きな空間。お洒落でゆったりと広いスペースは東京では貴重だ。週末のブランチはとても混んでいるが、平日はオススメ。パンは美味しいのだが、残念なことにコーヒーが不味い。

November in Tokyo

It was also very nice weather in Tokyo in November.  I didn't have much time but I've visited certain areas I love.

「１１月半ばの東京」東京は少し寒かったがとても良い天気だった。あまり時間はなかったので、好きな所を急いで回った旅。

Super nice weather

It's been a few years for me to come back to Japan in November but I've realized that this is the best season to visit Japan.  The sky is so blue and the air is cool and dry.

「１１月の気候」１１月に帰国するのは珍しいのだが、日本の最高の季節だと思った。空は青く澄んでいるし、気温は暑くもなく寒くもなく丁度いい。観光の季節なので、航空券も高く、何処でも割と混んでいるのだが、日本の秋は素晴らしい。

I usually cook French dishes when I invite family at home but I've tired of Cantonese food this time.  I love Chinese food but it's slightly difficult to make them when people come at home because Chinese food cannot be cooked beforehand.  Therefore I've prepared all the process and ingredients to be cooked on the spot of serving.

Though I liked all the dishes I made and Cantonese food is great dishes to share with people.

「ファミリーディナー」家族が集まる時はいつもフレンチを作るのが私の定番だが、今回は広東料理を作った。中華料理は作り置きが出来ないので、おもてなしにはあまり向かないのだが、蒸し物を入れたことと、材料をギリギリまで準備をしておいて炒めて作った。

日本の食材で中華は割と作りやすいので、良いアイディアだと思った。自分自身が広東料理が好きだと言うこともあるが、また作ろうと思う。カワハギの刺身は良いものが手に入ったので、肝醤油で頂いた。日本の魚は最高！

Izakaya nearby

I hardly eat out at night but there are some Izakaya in our neighbourhood to enjoy simple Japanese food.  This is a very simple place but it's nice to come when I don't feel like cooking.

「近くの居酒屋」私は地元ではあまり夜外食しないのだが、料理をする気がない時に近くに安くて美味しい居酒屋があるのはいい。日本のこんな文化はとても魅力的だと思う。意外に海外では、気軽にサクッと飲めて食べ物がシンプルで美味しい所はあまりない。。
