Full moon dinner

Full moon in September is called "Chu-seok" in Chinese and this is the second biggest holiday celebration in Asia after new year.  Unfortunately as Japanese, we don't have the culture to celebrate moon anymore since we change our calendar to western one about two hundred years ago.

It's very known to eat "Moon cake" for this day for Chinese people.  For Japanese, we don't have something particular but it's know the day to enjoy the moon with drinking sake and eat rice cake according to old poem.  Therefore I prepared the night with "Sake" theme last night with Japanese foods.

「お月見ディナー」お月見（中秋）は日本以外のアジアでは旧正月に次いで大きな節句で、アジア圏では来週水曜まで連休となるところが多い。香港ではしばらく前からあらゆる所で月餅が売られている。

お月見とは現代の日本では、お茶などの伝統的なお習い事以外ではあまり気に留めない普通の日だ。日本は明治維新後は西暦を採用しているため、月に関するお祝い事はマイナーな行事になってしまったように思う。

日本的なお月見とは、「月を見ながら酒をのむ」「団子を食べる」ということを思う。週末ということもあって、夕方からワクワクしながらお月見を表現した夕食を用意した。ニジマスの塩焼き以外は冷蔵庫の野菜の整理したような料理。選んだお酒は自分的にはいまいちだったが、「小川哲男」さんの酒器でより美味しくなった。
