My flower market debut

Since I've been to Singapore, I've realized that there is no flower shops in town.  There are but not exactly flower shops but in a gift shops.  Yet I understand that how difficult to keep cut flowers in hot weather as Singapore, since it was even hard in Hong Kong.

However there are many plants shops in town and they're quite reasonable.  It seems that it's much easier to have plants in rooms or on terrace in Singapore rather than to hunt cut flowers.  Though I have a passion of creating seasonal bouquet so I was very happy to find wholesale flower market in town.  However the size of the shop of fresh cut flowers are about 1/10 of the size in Hong Kong.

「フラワーマーケットデビュー」シンガポールに来て以来花を生けていなかった。というのは、街には花が売っていない。ギフトショップの様な所はあるが、とても花屋とは言えない。シンガポールは暑くて切り花が保たないのだろう。代わりに植物屋はたくさんあり、観葉植物がとても生き生きしていて安い。

今回バスに乗ってフラワー街と言われる所に行ってみた。何件もの植物屋が並ぶ中に、一件だけ切り花を売っている店がある。中は巨大な冷蔵庫になっていて大量の花が売られていた。ただ、総合的な花の量は香港の１０分の１くらいだろうか。種類も香港ほどは無く、値段も若干高い。

値引きになっているバラなどを中心に好みの色でブーケを束ねてみた。これで、S＄３０くらい。買っても保たないかな？と思ったが、毎日丁寧に水切りして水を変え、５日目の今日も未だ綺麗に咲いていてくれていて、意外に大満足。
