Ryokan

Shimoda is a very small and old Onsen village so there are not many choices of Ryokan.  We chose a place who has beds though the restaurant was very old fashion style of Tatami room, so I had difficulties to sit throughout the dinner.  Food was simple and good.  Especially the quality of Sashimi is unbeatable.

「夢ほたる」下田はとても古くて小さな温泉街で、新しい旅館がない。望洋郭など昔からある所か民宿しかないので、和洋室のあるこの宿にした。写真の他にも料理は沢山あった。田舎料理だが食材が良いので、美味しい。特に刺身の美味しさは市内ではなかなか味わえない鮮度だ。ただ、御座敷なので、苦労した。。海側の温泉はどこでもあまり湯の質が良くないが、硫黄質でとても良かった。
