A pole fished Aji

This Aji fish; Horse mackerel is fished with a pole.  The fishmonger told me this is completely different from the regular one.  The price was different.  It was 2000 yen compares to normal good Aji would cost around 700 yen.

As I was told this fish was totally different from the usual one.  I was very impressed with the texture and the fattiness yet not greasy.

「釣り鯵」鯵としては破格の２０００円という値段が付いていたので、魚屋のおじさんに聞いてみたら、釣りだから普通とは全く違うよ、とのこと。早速買ってさばいてみたら、その違いに驚いた。

身の透明感と脂の乗りが鯵とは思えない。少しシマアジに似ているがもっとトロッとしている。生姜で頂いたが、感激の美味しさだった。
