Private wine tour with Elodie - 1

We've booked a full day private wine tour with a company called "Elodie".  With luck of absolutely beautiful weather in St. Emilion, we had absolutely a wonderful day.  I was very happy with this tour even though it was a bit pricey.

The tour was extremely well organized.  Laetitia from the tour came to pick us up to our apartment at 10 am with her very comfortable and clean car.  She drove about 40 minutes to St. Emilion.

I understood that Elodie; the owner of the tour wanted to make sure that every participant of the tour fully understands the lecture.  Though I completely understand a perfect English lecture of Laetitia, my parents' English was weak to comprehend the explanation of winemaking.  So I have to spend some time to translate.

The tour started at Pommerol; a sub? next region of St. Emilion, where it produced the world most know wine of "Petrus".  We visited a bio winemaker.  I was not very familiar with organic winemaking but with the lecture of the owner, I was very impressed with the efforts and the numbers of the process of winemaking.

「プライベートワインツアー」この日は前々から予約をしていたワインツアーの日。スペインからずっと曇りだったのだが、素晴らしい秋晴れの日だった。このツアーは安くはないのだが、朝１０時から夕方６時までの完全プライベートツアー。予約する段階から色々と大変だったのだが、結局ここにお願いしてとても良かった。

プライベートなので、参加者全員がきちんとコミュニケーションがとれる状態でないと困ると言われていたのだが、私が両親に対してはきちんと通訳するという事で、納得してもらった。

車で滞在場所に迎えに来てくれるのだが、ドライブの間からワインの講義が始まった。とても勉強になる話を論理的に、さらにカジュアルに分かりやすく教えてくれる。

初めに訪問したシャトーはポメロー。ペトルスで有名なサンテミリオンと被る土地。オーガニックワインのシャトーを訪問して、オーガニックのワイン作りの話をうかがった。
