Sawamura Bussan

 

A little while ago I've met an amazing painter who was having an exhibition in a small cafe called Sawamura san.  I really love his style of painting which reminds me of Cezanne.  He paints views of Yatsushiro; Kumamoto mainly which is not exactly I'm familiar with the sites but the seans of countryside somewhat agricultural and factory-filled town are the depictions of people's lives.

「澤村武山」少し前に喫茶ジェイで展示会をしていた方。この画家さんの絵のスタイルが真に私の好きなスタイルで驚いた。こんな風景画を描かれる方が熊本にいらっしゃるんだ、という大発見。八代の方で主には八代の風景画を描かれている。

セザンヌが好きな私はいつもこんな絵が描きたいと思っていた。八代の畑や田んぼの風景や無機質な工場の風景などなんとも言えない色使いと雰囲気がとても共感できる。何か全てがとても好きな絵。なんとなくエドワード・ホッパー的な虚無感も感じられる。持参されていた過去の作品集がとてもよかった。

年に１回展示会をされるそうだ。デッサンの事などを質問したらとても丁寧に答えて下さった。とても興味深い経験だった。
