Photos are my personal memories of my nephews.  I made doughnuts for the first time because he bought a doughnuts machine.

個人的な思い出。甥っ子がドーナツ器を買ったので一緒にドーナツを作った。初めて作ってみたが簡単に美味しく出来た。お吸い物を作り忘れたので、次の日は熱々の茶碗蒸しを作った。運が悪く、天気が悪かったがちょうど桜も咲いていた頃。

I cooked a lot for my sister's family.  I wanted to prepare traditional Japanese food for my nephews; the Japanese country comfort foods that they probably don't eat at home.  I also needed to prepare a day before because I was going to pick up them and go to Onsen after with them.  I prepared a lot of food but we finished all in two days.

「春の田舎料理」妹家族が帰ってきたので沢山の料理を用意した。甥っ子にはなかなか食べないだろうと思う田舎の旬の野菜を使った昔ながらの料理を作っておいた。私が子供の頃におばあちゃんが田舎で作っていてくれた様な料理。和食は前々から準備できるので、夕方に帰ってきてからでもおもてなしが出来る。タルトは甥っ子が苺を並べてくれた。

お料理は好評で良かった。初日の反省点はお肉以外温かいものがなかった事。お吸い物を作るはずが忘れていた。

Seifuso

 This Onsen in South Aso originally was a very old one but it destroyed very badly on the Kumamoto earthquake in 2016.  It recently reopened with a whole new look.  They are still under construction but it's good to stop by for a bath because their bath is amazing.

「地獄温泉・清風荘」２０１６年の地震で大きな損害を受けた南阿蘇の地獄温泉の清風荘は最近リオープンした。以前は大変古くて趣のある統治場だったが、モダンな木造の建物群に大変身していた。

昔は昔で良かったが、思い切って新しくしたのだと思う。お風呂は新しく、開放的でとても気持ちがいい。平日は未だに工事中だが週末には落ち着いていた。宿泊も開始されている様だが日帰り温泉がオススメ。

My sisters came back home so I brought them to shops in Aso for lunch.  This shop is great but you need to wait so long that I cannot really recommend it to anyone unless you wait first in line when the shop is open.

「ほおずき」白水の蕎麦屋で好きな店。妹家族を連れて行った。早めに着いて開店前に並んだのでなんとかなったが、恐ろしく待つ店なので美味しいのだけどオススメしたいが要注意。そばも天ぷらもとても美味しい。

Minami Aso in March

 

Not every time I visit Aso is nice weather.  We tend to have Yellow sand flew from the east of China that makes the air very smoky.

「３月の南阿蘇」３月の半ばに南阿蘇に行った日。この日は黄砂が酷く、あまり景色が良く見えなかった。また阿蘇は野焼きが終わった様で、山が真っ黒。

I took a lot of photos of Sakura this year.  I'm fascinated with this tree as same as most Japanese people.  It's considered that the life of Sakura is one week.  We had good weather of one week this year.

「今年の桜」今年は１週間割と良い天気で桜を随分楽しむ事が出来た。自衛隊通りなど熊本の主な桜処に出かける事が出来た。

ここ１ヶ月ほど書きたい投稿は沢山あったのですが、色々と間に合わないまま日が経ってしまったので、過去に遡って投稿しました。本当はもっと早く情報を投稿したいのだけど、様々な理由で遅れています。

Sakura in Kumamoto Castle

These are the photos of Sakura was a nearly full bloom in Kumamoto Castle on the 23rd of February.  It was a sunny and warm spring day and it was perfect for Hanami.

Thought it was absolutely beautiful I thought the sakura trees in Kumamoto castle were better about ten years ago when they still haven't cut many tree branches.  Sakura trees are very sensitive to cutting branches.  From the cut surface tree become sick but the park keeper has to cut the branches because they grew too big in the end the tree loses its energy.  Sakura tree stands alone in the place they don't need to be trim, it grows much better.

「熊本城の桜」２月２３日の写真。この日はとても天気が良いお花見日和だったので熊本城へ散歩に出かけた。満開の一歩手前だったと思う。とても気持ちよくお花見が出来た。１０年ぶりくらいに熊本城の花を観たが、以前の方が花に勢いがあったように思う。

案内されているシルバー人材の方にお話を聞いたら、桜は大きくなりすぎると街路樹の場合は枝を切らなければいけないので、切ったところから弱っていくそうだ。桜切るバカとは言うが桜は枝を切る事が命取りになるそうで、同時に新しい木を植えていかなければいけないそうだ。

桜の枝はしなやかで、流れるような枝ぶりが美しい。一本で立っている桜は大きく育つ樹があるが街路樹は老木になると花の勢いが劣る。最近は温暖化で桜も弱ってきていると感じなくもない。

Sakura 2021

It's been years since I saw the full bloom of Sakura in Japan.  Each time when I have this rare opportunity I appreciate from my heart that I'm able to see this flower.  I'm grateful to be born Japanese.

「満開の桜」１０年ぶりくらいに観る満開の桜。昨日はとても天気が良く、最高の桜日和。この光景が見られて本当に良かった。桜を観るとなんとも言えない気持ちになる。日本人は本当にこの景色が好きなんだと思う。場所は渡鹿の東海大前の川辺。
