It's still chilly spring days but it's nice to have an early evening Shichilin BBQ on the terrace. I don't intend to have an entire BBQ for the night but I grill small things to have some beer with. Lightly dried sardines are the best for this. They smell very fishy but taste fantastic.
I especially love staying in "Engawa" which is the edge of the Japanese house. We sit on this edge to look at our Japanse garden and sometimes have tea but a small BBQ is the best.
「夕方の七輪焼き」少し前、急に暖かくなった時にした週末の七輪焼き。ちょうどイワシの干物があったのでそれを軽く焼いたり、天ぷらを炙ったり、新玉ねぎと大きな椎茸を焼いた。縁側に座って七輪を眺めるのは日本人の最高の庭の楽しみ方かもしれない。
春の天気は変わりやすい。急に暖かくなったり雨になったりするので、前々から計画を立てるのは難しい時期だがsponteneousに行動する醍醐味もある。
