Digging the river bottom

 

I've been wondering what they're working on the river for a while but I've read on the news that the city is trying to remove the sand from the bottom of the river which accumulated since the earthquake

「かき出し作業」一体何を工事しているのか謎だったのだが、川に溜まった砂をかき出しているそうだ。地震や近年の大雨で土砂が積もっているからだそう。最近近所を散歩しかしていない。あと１週間も緊急事態が続く。
