Coral Tree

 

I was very surprised to see this unique form of red flowers in Ezuko.  As I looked up the name of this tree, I've found this tree came from Portugal to Japan in the Edo period.

「アメリカでいご」少し前、いつも散歩しているところに赤くて奇抜な花が咲いてきたので驚いた。まさかこんな木だとは思っていなかった。調べるとアメリカでいごという、ポルトガルから伝来した植物で鹿児島の県木でもあるらしい。見た目がトロピカルで面白い花。
