Marseille

We've visited Marseille for the first time.  Marseille is the second biggest city in France yet I've never been there so as my husband.  We drove 2.5 hours from our place so we needed to leave the house in the morning.

The city is known as an old Mediterian port but it turned to a not very safe urban city in modern time.  I was expected that but I was more impressed with the ancient port with docked numerous beautiful sailing boats.

「マルセイユ」初めてマルセイユに行ってみた。マルセイユは人口の多さではパリに次いでフランス第二の都市。地中海の港として紀元前から歴史のある古い港町で、フランス最大の工業港の街。ただ現在は治安が悪いことで有名で、人口構成も独特なので観光地として海外から訪れる人はあまりいないと思う。

それでも私は過去の遺産は絶大だと思った。旧港は薄眼で観れば、港の風景や丘に広がる景色印象派の絵画のようだった。港にある数々の美しいセイリングボートは見ているだけても楽しい。日帰りだったのでほんの少ししか観ることが出来なかったが、それなりに良かった。
