Mid autumn Moon festival

Moon festival in autumn is one of the biggest festival in Chinese culture.  The day is set in August 15th in the moon calender which changes evry year in western calender.  It's 24th September this year.  There is a big moon cake fair in Takashimaya now.  I'm not a very big fan of moon cake but they became much more like western cakes than traditional cakes recently.

「中秋の名月」今年は９月２４日だそうだ。高島屋で月餅の特設会場が出来ていた。中華圏で、中秋の名月は大きなお祭り。シンガポールでも様々な店が独自の月餅を作る。こちらは香港に比べてマレー風でエビの塩っぽい具が入っているものがある。

香港では有名ホテルのもを頂いたり送ったりして、どこのはどんな味、というのをお茶の時間に楽しんだことを思い出す。最近はあまり伝統的なずっしり重い月餅でなく、形だけ月餅で中は普通のケーキ風に軽いものが多い。
