Chilled Chinese?


"Hiyashi Chuka" is the name of this noodle dish in Japan which direct translation is "chilled or cold Chinese food".  I don't know who named this dish but I've always thought that this sounds ridiculous.  Yet this is one of the very popular Japanese Chinese fusion dish in the summer.  It made with cold noodles with vegetable served in vinegar sauce.

「冷やし中華」完全に和製中華で、そのネイミングも独特すぎるが、暑い時には食べたくなる料理だ。今回はハムがなかったので味付けした油揚げを入れてベジタリアン仕様になった。
