I believe that this is a frozen mackerel from Norway. The supermarket nearby started to sell this on fresh fish section a while ago. I really love Mackerel so I'm buying this often and experimented varieties of cooking.
Salted mackerel is one of the typical ways of this fish in Japan. I marinated this in a good amount of salt for one day then oven cooked. Once it's marinated you can freeze it until it cooks. If you cook in the oven you can also keep for a long time.
「自家製塩鯖」最近近くのスーパーの鮮魚に鯖が売られるようになった。恐らくノルウェー産の冷凍だと思うが解凍されて鮮魚として売られている。脂があってとても美味しいのでよく買う。
丸1日くらい塩をして切ってオーブンで焼く。焼いておくと長持ちするのでご飯のおかずとしてはとても便利。
